Digital File Requirements

• All files must be in a PC format on a PC formatted media.
• All files must be Tiff (no LZW compression and Flattened), JPEG (baseline Standard), BMP or RAW files extensions (NEF, CRW, CR2 or RAFF).
• All files must be RGB (Not CMYK or GRAY SCALE).
• If cropping is critical, files must be set up on a canvas size that corresponds with standard photo print sizes such as 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, etc... If cropping is not critical our system will AUTOMATICALLY center crop.
• All files must be 300 dpi to obtain optimum performance from our silver halide printer. 300 dpi applies to all sizes 11x14 and smaller.
• All files must be 150 dpi to obtain optimum performance from our large silver halide printer. 150 dpi applies to Color Darkroom sizes larger than 11x14.
• If all images on the digital media provided are not being printed, file and folder must be clearly marked on our order form.
• All files must be 8 bit color.
• Digital media accepted: Zip disks 100mb, Smart Media, Compact Flash, Sony™ Memory Stick, IBM™ Microdrive, PCMCIA, Multimedia, xD Media, 3.5 Floppy Disks and CDR (not CDRW) burned as a DATA CD with the session closed.
• Files must NOT contain an Image Pyramid.
• Files must NOT contain any ALPHA CHANNELS.
• Files must NOT contain any syntax such as ?/[]*@\’!=+%#.
• Any file more than 3x the size needed to print WILL BE CHARGED a conversion fee.
• Since we cannot see your image size without using Adobe Photoshop™, please use one of these 3 methods for ordering:
- Our digital order forms, including our ROES client.
- Print sizes in the name of the file (example: DSCF54214_4x6.tif).
- Folders named with the print size and quantity (example: the folders name is 2ea4x6).
